Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a new bucket?

Tap the "+" button on the Buckets screen to create a new bucket. Give it a name, choose a color, and optionally set a time goal. You can then start logging time to this bucket from the main screen.

Is my data backed up?

Instalog stores all data locally on your device using secure storage (MMKV/App Groups). If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your data will automatically sync across all your Apple devices. We recommend keeping iCloud backup enabled on your device.

How does iCloud sync work?

Enable iCloud sync in Settings to keep your logs and buckets synchronized across all your devices signed in with the same Apple ID. All syncing is handled securely by Apple, and we never have access to your data.

Can I export my time logs?

Yes! You can export your data at any time from the Settings screen. Instalog supports CSV export, allowing you to analyze your time tracking data in spreadsheet applications or share it with others.

How do I upgrade to Premium?

Navigate to Settings and tap "Upgrade to Premium" to unlock advanced features. All subscriptions are managed through the App Store and can be canceled at any time from your device settings.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel, go to Settings on your iPhone → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Instalog, and select "Cancel Subscription". You'll continue to have access until the end of your billing period.

Can I edit or delete logged time?

Yes! Tap on any log entry to edit its time, bucket, or notes. You can also delete entries by swiping left on them. All changes are saved immediately to your device.

What happens if I delete the app?

All locally stored data will be removed when you uninstall the app. If you have iCloud sync enabled, your data will be preserved in iCloud and restored when you reinstall Instalog on any device. We recommend exporting important data before uninstalling.
